About Serving the Master Ministries
Serving the Master Ministries is a registered 501(c)3 charity headquartered in Germantown, Tennessee, USA. STM Ministries seeks to serve God’s kingdom by providing materials and training for the purpose of “making disciples of all nations” (Matt 28:18-20). STM Ministries continues to exist solely through the donations of folks like you, whom God leads to do so.
Steve Runer, Founder and President
After graduating from pilot training in 1978, Steve served as a fighter pilot in the USAF for 10 years, six of which were in Europe and the mid-east. After separating from the USAF in 1987, Steve joined FedEx Express as a pilot, instructor, and manager, serving in that capacity for 28 years until his retirement in December of 2015. He is currently a member of Piperton Baptist Church in Piperton, TN (Wint Fox, senior pastor). In October 2017, Steve founded STM Ministries.
Steve hails from Bruce, MS. His education includes a BS (double major) in Economics and Qualitative Management from the United States Air Force Academy (1977). In 2012, he felt God’s call to enter seminary at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY, graduating with an MA in Missiology (2015). In 2016, Steve was accepted into the Ph.D program at Midwestern Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO, where he focuses on Apologetics and Islam. His dissertation will compare the theonomic violence in the Bible with that in the Qur’an.
Steve eagerly seeks to “go forth and make disciples” in any way possible. He has travelled to Haiti to teach, and has served on the Board of Directors of La Limye Ministries, a Christian mission and children’s home based in Haiti. Steve has participated in many domestic and international mission trips, including Spain, Nicaragua, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Detroit/Dearborn, and Israel. He preaches itinerantly in the Mid-South area, and has been leading and teaching an interdenominational Men’s group each Saturday for the last 2 years.
Steve met his wife, Cristina, while stationed in Madrid, Spain. They have been married for 36 years, and have 2 grown daughters who live in the Memphis area.
Steve loves the Lord, and loves to tell others about the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
